Mexico Residency Document Preparation
Moving to Mexico requires the right documents, prepared correctly. We help you organize and prepare all required paperwork before you travel, so you avoid delays, mistakes, and unnecessary stress during your residency process.
If you completed the First Step — What’s Next?
Congratulations on obtaining your Mexico residency visa. The next required step is the Canje process, which allows you to exchange your visa for a Mexico residency card.
You are now just two steps away from completing your residency process.
Step One: Starting the Canje Process in Mexico
The Canje process is the exchange of the 180-day residency visa sticker in your passport for a Mexico residency card.
To begin:
- You must travel to Mexico
- You must start the Canje process before your visa sticker expires
- Timing and document accuracy are critical
Failing to complete this step on time can result in delays or restarting the process.
Step Two: Visit the Local Immigration Office (INM)
After entering Mexico, you must visit the INM immigration office closest to your Mexican address.
At the INM office, you will:
- Submit your application
- Present your prepared documents
- Complete the process to obtain your Mexico residency card
Comprehensive Document Preparation Support
If you obtained your Mexico residency visa on your own, you can still use our services for the Canje process.
